The Designer Series is an exciting project that gives Pearl Izumi artists the freedom to create and explore different styles and themes outside of our normal range. The series is also an opportunity to push boundaries and showcase an individual artist’s design or illustrative style. Produced in limited quantity runs makes each design that much more unique. Irezumi:

Tattoos are an ultimate form of self-expression. The permanent body art has seen a resurgence that started in the early 2000’s and has only grown in popularity, athletes in particular.

The inspiration for this design "Irezumi"–the Japanese word for tattoo–was to fuse traditional Japanese irezumi from elements of Pearl Izumi. The jewels and water represent the literal meaning of our company name. While the tiger (tora), a symbol of strength and power, the lotus (hasu) symbolizing attaining enlightenment, and cherry blossoms (sakura) representing the enduring cycle of life, come together for a design that appeals to any rider.
