Bike2 (Denmark) – The Danish company is ready to deliver its Bike2 system to bicycle manufactures. According to the company, “The Bike2 system that won the Seoul Cycle Design competition 2010 is the first serial production of an all-electric transmission ready to be implemented and commercialised by bicycle manufactures.”

After an initial phase with distribution of preproduction units with selected partners, the Bike2 system is now ready for a broader public.



The Bike2 system excels by giving the cyclists a natural cycling experience, with a feeling just like riding a conventional or assisted bicycle, even though they are pushing a generator located in the crank-box instead of a mechanical transmission connected to the wheel.

It is also the first e-bike system to have a completely step-less digital gearing and an automatic gear mode, which keep the cadence at a fixed level despite different loads from the cyclist.



Among other benefits are the exclusion of many mechanical parts, simple and easy assembly and maintenance, as well as a smoother level of assistance compared to that of conventional e-bike systems.

"Beside the expected and important test made with producers of normal bicycles, we also have had a lot of interest from makers of other amazing types of pedal assisted vehicles; vehicles that hopefully will shape the future of transportation in our cities," Says Nils Sveje. "These test have helped develop a system that can be fine-tuned to multiple segments and users" added Jesper Allan Hansen, founders of the company. The Bike2 system is expected to have a great impact in bicycle segments as recumbent, cargo, elderly, disabled and fleets in the short time and on conventional bicycles in the longer run.

Bike2 will show the system and examples of implementation on this year Eurobike, Hall A5 Stand 605.
