EAV Confirms Technical Partnership with Finnish Designers Revonte

Electric Assisted Vehicles (United Kingdom) - Electric Assisted Vehicles Limited have signed an exclusive agreement with Revonte, a sophisticated eBike hardware and software engineering company from Finland.

Revonte was established in 2018 with a mission to take eBikes to the next level by providing the best-in-class drive system. The company are also focused on developing advanced software for their hardware drive systems which include a fully integrated stepless transmission in the new Revonte ONE Drive system. This system provides unprecedented customisation, connectivity and services through unique on-board software.

EAV’s EAVcab is already one of the most advanced, robust, stable and efficient eCargo bikes available.  Referred to as having been ‘engineered down from a van rather than up from a bicycle’, the EAVcab, with the integrated Revonte ONE Drive system developed specifically for eCargo use, could offer a package for Urban Lightweight Commercial Vehicles (ULCV) which would provide a greater user experience, improve efficiency of operation and deliver user data of exceptional value.

“Technical development is at the forefront of our work at EAV.” commented Adam Barmby, Technical Director and Founder of EAV. “We know that we can use a bio-mechanical electric hybrid vehicle like EAV to replace most vans and even cars in urban environments without any loss in operational efficiency, but we need to see how far we can improve that offering and where those improvements need to be.  We’re already fully modular with the EAVcab offering multiple models on the same chassis and we’re working on our own wheel, tyre and braking developments to over-engineer safety in to all EAV vehicles.  The inclusion of the Revonte ONE Drive system and working with Revonte to package that with EAV vehicles will take our ULCVs well beyond the next level.”

Revonte will be working closely with EAV to customise the software to match the demands of a new line of cargo eBikes. The highly customisable nature has been a priority since the inception of the Revonte ONE Drive System to meet the varied and demanding needs of the ever-growing eBike market.

“The future of commercial vehicle operations in urban environments in now unquestionably based on the eCargo or ULCV concept.” said Otto Chrons, CEO of Revonte. “Lightweight, efficient and with zero emissions, we can see these vehicles in operation globally in large numbers in only a short time. Working with EAV we can use Revonte ONE Drive to make that vision even better with bikes that are easier to use, easier to maintain and ideal for extracting data for commercial operators.  We’re excited to be working with EAV as the foremost developer and manufacturer of eCargo ULCVs and look forward to jointly introducing the new vehicle in the future.”
