Olympia F1-X: More Technical and More Fun than Ever

Olympia F1-X: More Technical and More Fun than Ever

Olympia (Italy) - The evolution of the dual-suspension flagship model in the Olympia range continues - with low weight, stability and riding safety as its key assets. Many structural improvements have been introduced in the F1-X model to respond to the needs of cyclists who appreciate increasingly technical downhill stretches and twisty routes. Once again, Olympia was able to make the most of the valuable feedback obtained from its racers - first and foremost, the Braidot brothers - competing in major XCO and Marathon championships.

The F1-X monocoque frame is made of T1000, T800, T700 and M40J carbon fibre materials from the leading manufacturer Toray. Thanks to the EPS technology it was possible to reduce the weight of the frame by 5% and increase its rigidity.

The signature "double mould" EPS system eliminates excess material and ensures maximum control of surfaces and thickness both on the inside and on the outside. The result is a polished, sleek frame design, perfectly in line with design specifications.

The stay has been shortened by 3 mm for a prompter response when picking up speed - but this is not the only major improvement to this part of the vehicle. The stays' shape has been redesigned to improve elasticity with a deactivated suspension: this ensures greater riding comfort and at the same time, improved rear wheel grip.

The newly developed F1-X uses a lighter and highly reliable carbon fibre link. All this, combined with a longer-travel Trunnion suspension (+ 5 mm), ensures a more compact design and a more gradual action of the rear stay.

Also new is the wire harness relocation over the bottom bracket to connect with the stay, for improved cable protection. At the base of the seat tube, at the intersection between the stay and the frame, a protective rubber plate has been applied to prevent dirt from the ground going into the cable harness area.

The lowered stack makes F1-X more compact and easier to steer in cornering, while the verticalised seat tube, moved forward to 75°, prevents any annoying front wheel lifting off the ground in the steepest uphill stretches.

The horizontal reach has been extended. The combination of 69° steering angle opening and 44 mm rake reduction ensures high stability at the front end, without affecting the bike's handling in sudden trajectory changes.

One of the main strengths of the full-suspended Olympia flagship model is its Stability Control. The steering assembly, with its unmistakable "O" shape, has been designed to be more rigid to prevent bending and ensure a limited steering angle. This also contributes to the more compact total wheelbase and excellent handling of F1-X. The seat tube coupling has also been reinforced.

The cable harnesses are integrated. To facilitate the sliding of cables and protect inlets, specially oriented pawls have been applied to the inlets of the sheaths.

F1-X is factory-ready for mounting 2.35 tyres. It is available in the colour patterns White/Blue/Orange/Carbon and Black/Gray/Green/Carbon and in sizes S, M, L, XL.

The new F1-X is a highly technical mtb, able to meet the needs of the most demanding cyclists, but also to entertain granfondo lovers who have stability and a sense of security as their top priorities.
