New Oraklo 148 from Scapin

New Oraklo 148 from Scapin
Scapin (Italy) - For the first time preview ever, on the occasion of the Capoliveri Legend Cup, the UCI Marathon test entered the 2016 IMA Scapin Circuit, Scapin presented to the public and the press its new 29" ORAKLO 148, which will be in the 2017 catalogue range.

Born for maximum stability and precision steering, designed for competition and ideal in Marathons, Oraklo 148 takes its name from the rear boost standard and is monocoque frame characterised by a Toray T800 carbon fibre.

Aesthetically, Oraklo 148 continues the Scapin design tradition, researching innovative solutions, unique, special and prominent: seen sideways the frame highlights all the mighty power of its structure. The very geometric top tube continues ideally, in a barely visible curve, with seat stays. The down tube has a sharp bend and its facets, similar to those of a diamond, become more obvious little by little as one approaches the head tube and the bottom bracket. The latter then, is generous with sections, as it should be, but harmonically in agreement with the chain stays, rugged and oversized, with the left to accommodate the post mount. The particular shape of the frame is designed to exploit to the full the elasticity of the material and, also thanks to a tailor made mix of fibres, to make it more flexible, hence more comfortable, and at the same time more resistant. The tests carried out on Oraklo 148 showed that its structure reacts better to stresses, with an increase of 13% at the front and 14% at the rear (compared to previous versions).

The major changes brought about by the R+D Scapin to this new version, in fact are not only aesthetic but of geometry. The seat tube angle has been kept constant in the central sizes, but made more harmonic in extreme sizes (S and XL) with the aim to adapt better to the morphology of the reference bikers, all to the advantage of a more efficient and performing position.

The experience gained with Oraklo 29" and Spektro has led the Scapin engineers to wide by 1° the head tube angle. The change has been made to all sizes, with the goal of a safe and effective driving, especially on long descents. The BB finally was lowered (about +5 mm), so as to improve the stability of the bicycle and make it more manageable in the sudden changes of direction. The rear stays, as a whole, are shorter than in the previous models for an even more responsive bike and ready to fly off.

Oraklo 148 was presented officially at the September 2016 Trade Fairs.

It is available in 4 sizes (S-M-L-XL), 3 colour combinations (Orange/Black, Gloss Black/Matte, Black/White/Red), 7 different set ups (including SRAM 12Speed Eagle), 5 different Forks, 4 wheel Types.

Other specifications: derailleur with direct Side Swing mount, 148 mm boost, 12 mm through axle, 31.6 mm saddle holder, 1,290 gr indicative weight of the frame (S).
