Shimano MTB Super Cup: Round 1 - La Nucia:

Tom Pidcock powered to victory in his first Mountain Bike race of the season.

After a strong start, a group of five, including Pidcock, rapidly pulled out a gap on the rest of the field, before Sam Gaze (Alpecin - Deceuninck) struck clear three laps in.

Pidcock paced his effort to perfection, setting off after the New Zealander alone. On making contact, the Yorkshireman tried a few probing efforts, before putting in a huge dig over the biggest climb of the six-lap circuit.

Into the final few metres of the course, and Pidcock had extended the gap to 15 seconds. He would cross the line, arms aloft, to take his first victory of the 2024 season.
