Pinion (Germany) - Press Release: The gearbox specialists at Pinion are opening up to the market and expanding their distribution channels for the EU countries and Switzerland. From 02.04.2019, qualified dealers will have the opportunity to purchase gearboxes for specific applications directly from Pinion.
"With this step, we are responding to our end consumers' demand for individualisation, retrofitting and better comparability and moving closer to the stationary trade," explains Thomas Raith (Managing Partner, Pinion GmbH).
Distribution To Selected Pinion Retailers:
So far, Pinion gearboxes have been sold exclusively to bicycle manufacturers and frame builders. As the number of customers increased, end users began to demand individual solutions, custom bikes and subsequent conversion of a Pinion bike, for example to a different gearbox line. From 02.04.2019, dealers will be able to comply with this request and thus become an important contact point for Pinion customers. "In principle, any trained Pinion dealer can purchase gearboxes from us. The highest quality standards have always been our credo. These are valid for our Pinion products and also for the end product bicycle. In order to guarantee our customers carefree cycling in every situation, the sale of Pinion gearboxes to retailers is linked to specific applications. Direct sales of Pinion gearboxes by the dealer is excluded.", reports Thomas Raith.
- Retrofitting of a bicycle to a transmission with more or less gears
- Conversion to a different gearbox line
- Installation in an existing, used or new bicycle frame
- Construction of a custom-made Pinion bike
- Own construction/brand using the original Pinion interface
Dealers can use a separate order form to order gearboxes for specific applications. Once the order has been approved, the gearbox will be delivered promptly to the specialist dealers.
Transparent prices for customers:
With this step, we communicate RTP prices to customers for the first time. This price transparency enables a better comparability of Pinion bikes on the market for our customers. The individual prices of the gearboxes show that bikes with our high-end drive technology have an absolutely attractive price/performance ratio," says Thomas Raith.
