Prologo (Italy) - Press Release: Belgium, 7th April 2019. 175 riders at the start, but only one will be the king of Flanders. With “only” 18km to go after 5.30 hours of racing, Alberto Bettiol made a move on the Kwaremont, taking the lead and pushing hard. This was the right decision, he then rode alone toward the finish line, cheered and supported by the crowd. He made us scream and dream, gifting us with incredible emotions.

We wanted to thank him for what he has done, so we created a special edition by giving him his much-loved Scratch M5 with a custom Flanders-themed design. Since that day he has proudly used it in all his competitions and training sessions, as an indelible memory of that finish line.

As we approach the 2020 edition of the Flanders, we created thirty replicas of that saddle, identical in all respects to that of Bettiol, in combination with the customized Onetouch Polygrip tape. Only ten copies for the public, numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The remaining ones will be used for exhibition, charity and donated to Alberto himself.

The Saddle:

Scratch M5 is the new line of saddles that uses 4.0 technologies. Thanks to the new design, size and ergonomic "T SHAPE", SCRATCH M5 is suitable for Man / Woman. The size is 250 x 140mm and the weights vary depending by the model: the Nack version is only 155gr, while the Tirox version is 189gr.

The new MSS- Multi Sector System, designed in collaboration with the Polytechnic of Milano, improves comfort and performance. The active foams, separated from each other, create 5 mapped zones that work individually, supporting the normal pedaling movement both during the pushing and pulling phases. The round shape of the SCRATCH M5 allows the pelvis to rotate naturally, creating stability and support for the lumbar areas; it also favors the distribution of pressure over a larger surface.

Despite the absence of a real perineal channel, the SCRATCH M5 has an open base able to eliminate pressure peaks in the genital pelvic area (Active Base). The closure of the prostate zone also offers better protection against extreme climatic conditions (rain or mud).
