Radon Bikes (Germany) – Radon Bikes launched the New Jealous Hardtail Carbon Bike. The new Jealous Frame weights only 890g, for the size 16”.
As with its predecessor the BLACK SIN, our dark and sinful side inspired us. Our designers and team racers went for the top competitive goal – to be better than the others and to create a little envy. The result demonstrates that it is worthwhile to have fun and purpose in making people jealous.
While traditional cross-country courses in years gone by offered minor technical challenges, the claim that “races are won on the uphill“ has clearly lost its relevance. Vocabulary such as “drop“ or “rock garden“ have long since become anchored in the language of the XC racer.
The rear section of the JEALOUS is designed for the new Boost thru axle standard measuring 148 x 12 mm. Wheels with flatter-angled spokes can then be used to improve wheel rigidity.
As a material, carbon provides virtually unlimited design possibilities. But designers are also severely restricted by the technicalities of rigidity, weight and geometry as well as the mounting dimensions required by components.
Weight and stiffness have a negative effect on each other and therefore present particular design challenges. The challenge becomes even greater when you want to be the best in quality, durability and safety.
From December 2016, the JEALOUS are available in eight different models priced between €1,999 and €6,499.
