Revealing the New De Rosa TT Disc Brake - “The Blade Runner”

De Rosa (Italy) - Press Release: Are you watching the Tour? There's a new beast in town. The new De Rosa TT "Flame", tested on the field by Elia Viviani during the Tour of Romandie, has seen his official debut with the Cofidis Team at the first stage of the Giro, and now the team has a new weapon at its disposal in the perennial challenge against the time at Le Grand Boucle.

The natural evolution of the previous model, the new De Rosa TT will be produced only in disc brake version and it embodies the result of an intense research and development work by De-Rosa, aimed to achieve 3 clear objectives: maximum aerodynamics, reduced weight, and greater stiffness.

The new TT Disc aerodynamic shape immediately catches the eye:

Thanks to De Rosa’s tradition in racing frame construction and the experience gained through years of close collaboration with cutting-edge design studios, all angular surfaces have been eliminated from the frame and fork. This, combined with intense wind tunnel tests and direct feedback from World Tour athletes, has allowed a drastic reduction of the aerodynamic drag and consequently a significant increase in the CX coefficient.

The construction of the new “De Rosa JW” fork immediately catches the eye, with an enlarged arch, allowing a more fluid passage of the air that discharges laterally eliminating the eddies that can be created between the fork and the wheel.  Clearly evident on the rest of the frame is the hard work of optimizing the profiles. Starting with the head tube, perfectly integrated with the Vision TFA handlebar, that sports a completely internal cable routing, continuing with the dynamic line of the top tube and the oblique thinning. Everything runs fast, harmoniously.

Maximum attention was also paid to the continuous curvature of the vertical tube that is perfectly integrated with the seat stay and the bottom bracket shell: we are in the state of the art of aerodynamic studies. The massive use of high modulus carbon allows a natural weight reduction (Frame 1250g – Fork 420 grams – Seatpost 180 g) and a substantial increase in stiffness, this translates into a lower dispersion of forces and a power-saving by the athlete.

The result is a minimalist frame, a real blade forged to slice the wind.
