Merida (Germany) - Press Release: We are proud to look back on a long list of MERIDA bikes that have left their mark on the Design & Innovation Awards over the years. Iconic bikes such as our eONE-SIXTY, REACTO, SCULTURA, ONE-SIXTY and the original version of the SILEX have impressed the judges with their riding characteristics, unique style, thoughtful design and fit-for-purpose choice of features and specifications, making their own unique mark on the history of the awards.

When we entered this year's contender, the new SILEX 10K, we were hopeful that it would follow in the footsteps of its illustrious predecessors, as it has received outstanding press feedback since its launch in the autumn of 2023. Fortunately, it did not disappoint, adding yet another Design & Innovation Awards to the MERIDA trophy cabinet.

Here is what the jury had to say about our new, world championship-winning gravel bike:   

“The MERIDA SILEX 10K combines functionality and versatility; all topped off with a fresh, appealing look. With its lively, exciting appearance, MERIDA’s gravel bike looks fast even when stationary. Behind the racy silhouette, however, hides a thoroughbred all-rounder, a trusted companion for all kinds of two-wheeled adventures, from epic bikepacking tours to fast-paced post-work rides and authentic racing. The dropper post and mullet drivetrain also make it suitable for trails, both up and downhill. The outstanding workmanship and clever frame details are a perfect match for the bike’s unique look. The frame also features eyelets for MERIDA’s proprietary F-Mount, a removable brace that attaches to the seat stay bridge, allowing you to fit a full-sized rear mudguard. A practical mini tool under the saddle and the mounting points on the fork round off the overall harmonious package – our jury was truly impressed!”
