European Cyclists Federation (Belgium) – "ZEG, Vodafone and Strava open up the 2nd Annual Smarter Cycling Conference at Eurobike, led by the CIC (Cycling Industry Club), the ADFC (German Cyclists' Federation), and Eurobike itself. On Tuesday 29 August, all companies keen to shape the future of cycling should come to explore the full potential of “rider-bike-cloud” connectivity and digital integration.
The cycling world - and market - is changing. The next generation of intelligent bikes, and their smart components, will integrate all sorts of accessories - smart watches, connected helmets, clothing and footwear - to deliver a real-time calibrated rider experience. The collaboration between these emerging technologies will allow for the next great leap in the cycling sector: the digital customisation of training, performance, navigation and commuting.
The 'Connected Cyclist' Conference will be the perfect opportunity for bicycle brands, component manufacturers and related retailers, to see how we all can hook into this new digital cycling future - tapping into the ever-growing wearable technology market, reportedly worth $51 billion by 2022. Helping fund this future, Oliver Kozak, Senior Advisor at the European Commission, will outline the EU's €3 billion portfolio of public investments available for disruptive European SMEs, making this event extremely relevant for innovative start-ups at Eurobike.
The Smarter Cycling Conference therefore welcomes senior product management, corporate leadership, cycling start-ups, and the founders / CEOs of "digital" SMEs. A networking lunch is part of the program, in addition to the Conference agenda of keynote speakers, panellists, workshops and a taste of the smartest products of the Eurobike Award", shared European Cyclists Federation.
