The New Dikyelous Hardtail from REEB Cycles

REEB Cycles (United States) - Press Release: Shorter, yet longer. Slacker, yet aggressive.

The original REEB dikyelous (#dikyelous) hardtail ignited our REEB ride by taking the need to descend the steep and rocky terrain of the Colorado Front Range and apply it to soul saving simplicity of the single speed steel (ah hell, and ti) hardtail. The design has been relentlessly refined by our frame builder Chris Sulfrian since Outside Magazine named it “Top 9 Mountain Bikes of 2012” to “Best Fatbikes of 2016”.

In 2014 the in-house designed custom REEB ABT tubeset (#reebABT) took the bike to the next level. The front triangle is anchored with an 1 3/4“ downtube delivering steering accuracy in the steepest chute while providing strength to run longer travel forks while the larger seat tube accommodates the majority of dropper seatpost options. The rear end was a selection of shaped stays and Paragon sliding dropouts to accommodate the aggressive mentality of wider rims and large volume knobby tires.

Progression continues on the Dikyelous and the ABT tubeset. The 2018 Dikyelous2 (#Dikyelous2) is the latest step, and incorporates an in-house designed and CNC machined yoke allowing Chris to tuck the rear wheel and still accommodate the big meats. The new slightly curved seatube shortens the chainstay potential by an inch and amplifies the responsiveness of the boost spaced rear-end of the bike, adding to the playfulness of the platform. While the rear end is shorter, the front end has grown by two inches to give that oh-so-luxurious longer wheelbase stability.

Each and every Gates Carbon Drive compatible frame is designed in-house, hand cut, hand welded and powder coated in Longmont, CO.
