Vittoria Presents the New Casing for EMTBs

Vittoria (Italy) - Vittoria presents the new ENDURO & EMTB casing.

Vittoria presents the new casing specifically designed for electric MTBs: the ENDURO & EMTB casing. This new casing features the best and latest technologies developed by Vittoria.

Designed to handle the stronger impacts generated by the weight of electric mountain bikes, and to deliver high performance on the most demanding Enduro courses, ENDURO & EMTB casing use a double layer of Nylon 120 TPI (2-ply casing). Protection from cuts and pinches is provided by the anti-pinch-flat (APF) inserts – rubber-made strong and flexible inserts.

In addition to using tubeless-ready aramid beads for ultimate air retention, ENDURO & EMTB casing tires feature the most innovative and advanced compounds from Vittoria: GRAPHENE 2.0 and 4 compounds (4C) technologies.

GRAPHENE 2.0 (G 2.0) takes the original Graphene compound foundation that Vittoria built, and functionalizes the advancements in performance, for each specific application.  In other words, where the first generation of graphene compounds raised the bar evenly, GRAPHENE 2.0 pin-points each performance metric, and increases it disproportionally to the rest. Vittoria is now able to apply graphene in such a way that it can achieve a performance boost specifically for speed, wet grip, durability, and puncture resistance. Considering MTB and eMTB tires, GRAPHENE 2.0 significantly improves wet grip.

Vittoria 4 compound (4C) layering technology features separate base and surface compounds, in both the center and the side areas of the tread. This approach allows to fine-tune the flex of the tread-base and tread-surface separately, placing the correct hardness of the GRAPHENE 2.0 compound exactly where it is needed for maximum cornering, climbing, rolling, and braking performance. In addition, durability and puncture protection are also improved, as the robust base compound resists punctures, and provides a stable base for deeper mountain bike treads. Each of the 4 layers is comprised of different natural and synthetic rubber types, blended into the compound that works best for the intended use. This allows for endless customizations of each layer according to the tire needs.

ENDURO & EMTB casing is available for the following tire models: Martello, Mota and Morsa.

Martello is built for all-condition terrains, it delivers high-level performance thanks to its moto-inspired tread design with progressive width siping – which provides tactile grip at the knob surface without sacrificing traction or speed. This last part is key and provides for a progressive feel on the effective edge, allowing for that fine-touch tactile feel that top racers expect.

The muddiest Enduro course conditions possible have inspired the Mota. Intended for use on professionally maintained courses, the moto block spikes cut into soft terrain, providing world class grip across the slickest surfaces. The Mota tread features ample spacing for immediate shedding of mud and debris.

The Morsa has proven itself as a formidable weapon of choice for dry, fast rolling Enduro courses everywhere. Morsa can provide extreme traction and low rolling resistance in the same time thanks to the ramped leading-edge design, medium tread depth, and of course the 4C Graphene compound. Carvy loam trails and technical off-camber switchbacks are no match for the Morsa.

For a perfect EMTB set-up, Vittoria designed Air-Liner, the high-quality polymer insert that replaces a portion of the air volume in the tire. This trait, combined with the shape, provides a tunable system that gives a progressive feel.

The benefits of Air-Liner on E-MTBs are evident. Given the major weight and power of E-MTBs, impacts on wheels are much stronger and dangerous compared to those generated by a normal MTB. Therefore, Air-Liner works as a protection for the wheels, it is fundamental for preventing rim breaking and punctures on sidewalls. Besides protection, Air-liner enhances the overall riding comfort. It favours grip in both climbing and descent, it allows for lower tire pressures and absorbs high-frequence vibrations.
