Catlike has achieved this in its quest to create safer helmets that can be used with action cameras or head lamps, fulfilling all the homologations worldwide. A safety contribution to the cyclist in the event of an impact and in compliance with any accident report for the insurance companies.
The Catlike Yelmo has been under development for more than 10 months and has successfully passed dozens of tests, the most demanding of which has been to become the first cycling helmet in the world to include this fully approved mount for GoPro.
Currently on the market there are a multitude of couplings or systems to fix or adhere the GoPro to the hull, but none of them have been tested to be included with the hull in impact tests. This means that on impact, they can affect the structure and safety of the hull. A fact that insurance companies are reminding cyclists.
But this characteristic is one among many others that make the Yelmo a totally revolutionary GoPro helmet.
Safety remains the fundamental pillar of the company, and for this reason Catlike has developed, together with the engineers of Boa Technology, its new retention system, an evolution of the already excellent MPS eVo. In this case they present the FS1 system, which retains the double flap of its predecessor, for an adjustment of up to 5 points that saves any pressure on the medulla and adds a precision wheel allowing a millimeter adjustment for both tightening and loosening the retention system.
Yelmo also stands out for its versatility, since it incorporates some details developed by Catlike to adapt to any condition that the cyclist may encounter off the asphalt. It emphasizes its adjustable and detachable visor with up to 5 points of positioning that shields the sun at any angle and also leaves enough space for any type of glasses or goggles used in the off road disciplines.
For these type of goggles, which allow bands of more than 3 centimeters wide, the Yelmo incorporates a rough surface on its lateral sides, which provide additional grip on the goggle strap, as well as a back hook, to hold them in place while improving fit and adhesion during the most bumpy and technical routes.
With 22 air intakes, the helmet retains a compact style and good fit to the head retaining excellent ventilation. Catlike has wanted to preserve its second seal of identity along with the pursuit of excellence in safety: ventilation. These unique, unmistakable Catlike oval holes create air intakes that have been studied to improve air circulation and excellent head cooling thanks to the Catlike Dual Flow design.
In addition, it is manufactured in three different sizes, from 54 to 62 centimeters in perimeter, so that any cyclist can get a GoPro helmet with an excellent fit depending on the size and shape of his head.
At present, the Catlike Yelmo is available in 8 different colors, but in a short time it will be possible to design your own Yelmo, choosing the color of each and every one of its components, inscribe your name or the name of your club, your logo or signature and the finish or the complements in the new customization application Catlike offers.
